GA Supreme Court Reverses Ruling that Exempted Mfg. Repair/Replacement Parts
|
|
The Supreme Court of Georgia has reversed a 2007 Georgia Court of Appeals ruling that a sales tax exemption existed for purchases of manufacturing machinery repair and replacement parts under the 1997 version of the exemption statute. The Court was split, with three (3) of the nine (9) justices dissenting who would have affirmed the Court of Appeals ruling.

Indiana Property Tax Reform Legislation Signed into Law
|

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels signed the much-anticipated property tax reform legislation (House Enrolled Act 1001) into law on March 19, 2008. Indiana lawmakers struggled for months to agree on the specifics of the legislation.
