DMA's Covid-19 Response
To Our Valued Clients and Business Partners:

I hope this finds you, your colleagues, and your families all well and safe. I wanted to take a pause from what has been a steady stream of business continuity planning, reviewing employee and leader communications, and collecting intelligence from our operations leaders to check in with you, our valued clients and key business partners. I also wanted to provide an overview of DMA’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak and its myriad follow-on effects. We want you to know that during this period of uncertainty, continuing to deliver outstanding client service and ensuring the health and safety of our DMA employee-owners are, as always, our top priorities.

  • In preparation for events like these, we have developed a flexible and adaptable risk mitigation plan. That plan includes our maintenance of remotely accessible systems and communication technology platforms that allow our teams to continue to collaborate and perform most tasks outside their primary offices. We have also developed plans to create task and team member redundancy to ensure that deadlines will be met even in the face of conflicting priorities and unforeseeable emergencies. With the benefit of these systems and processes, we expect to be able to continue to effectively deliver our services and fulfill our client commitments for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Some of the tasks we perform require our personnel to be in-office. For those situations, we are following guidance from the CDC and local health officials. In particular, we have implemented social distancing measures, directed employees with symptoms of respiratory illness or who may have been exposed to the coronavirus to work from home or take time off, and provided detailed guidance regarding health awareness and hygiene practices. We have also directed our employees to avoid all non-essential travel and any in-person meetings.

  • We have already been in touch with many of our clients and our contacts at the state and local taxing authorities with which we work so closely. These are still early days, of course, but based on our initial assessment, many companies and taxing authorities are doing their best to continue to operate (albeit remotely) at normal levels. That said, some taxing authorities have temporarily closed their offices, delayed hearings, and delayed filing and tax payment deadlines. We will continue to closely monitor guidance from these authorities, share that with you, and discuss with you the implications for your business.

These developments are creating challenges and uncertainty at levels many of us have never experienced. The employee-owners at DMA are prepared, however, to meet these challenges head on, adapt accordingly, and work together as the family we are to deliver the excellent client experiences and outstanding results that you have come to expect from us. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and trust in DMA. Please contact me or your DMA account manager with any questions you may have. My best wishes for your health and well-being,

Dan Hutmacher
