DMA is pleased to announce that Jesse Ancira, Jr., will be working with DMA beginning April 2, 2016. Jesse will join DMA’s Texas team to bring additional tax knowledge and strategic relationships that DMA’s clients can leverage to minimize taxes and improve their tax processes. Jesse brings unparalleled knowledge and insight into state and local taxes, as well as an impressive work history and successful track record in assisting clients with obtaining state and local tax savings. Jesse most recently served as Chief of Staff for the Texas Speaker of the House, where he provided advice and counsel related to legislative and policy matters including tax, fiscal, economic development, open records, and ethics. His 20+ years of experience in the Texas state government, including service as General Counsel and Director of Tax Administration with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (TCPA), will further benefit DMA’s clients with Texas operations as they pursue state and local tax minimization opportunities.

DMA’s Texas team is composed of former Texas auditors, audit supervisors, Director of Audits, Manager of Sales Tax Policy, General Counsel, Associate Deputy Controller, Chief Administrative Law Judge, Chief Hearings Attorney, and Assistant Director of Tax Administration. Our combined experience within the Texas State & Local Tax arena exceeds 250 years. Our Texas team’s extensive experience with the Texas Comptroller’s office gives DMA invaluable insight into how Texas conducts audits, what expectations are held regarding documentation support, auditors’ personalities, and the managing style of the audit supervisors. This unique insight results in DMA’s ability to maintain a positive working relationship with the State of Texas and ensures our clients’ corporate images are viewed positively by the State. This experience brings DMA unparalleled credibility and reputation within the Texas Comptroller’s office, as well as a deep respect for an auditor’s role and responsibilities. These factors play an important part in how smoothly audits proceed, how quickly refund claims are reviewed and processed, and ensuring taxpayers do not pay more than what is due.

Please do not hesitate to contact your local DMA office should you have specific questions or requests.
