The state has made it easier for you to obtain your Reseller Permit. You can now download the document from the My Account function of the website. The state will no longer send paper copies of the form. You can also verify other businesses’ Reseller Permits with the business lookup tool. REFERENCE

In addition, the Department of Revenue has included verbiage regarding reseller permits and businesses on Indian reservations as well as services related to foreclosed properties not being applicable to resale. REFERENCE

As mentioned in the 1st Quarter newsletter, the penalties have also been adjusted per SB 6138. Late penalties increased effective August 1, 2015. The failure to pay penalty increased from 5% to 9%. If the payment still is not received by the end of the month, the penalty increases from 15% to 19%. If not received by the end of the second month, it rises again from 25% to 29%. REFERENCE

Finally, per an expedited ruling, the state has revised its rules and regulations regarding the manufacturing machinery and equipment exemption. To review the revised definitions, click here.
