Washington Initiative 1643 Passes

With 55.88% of the vote, Washington’s initiative 1634, known as the Keeping Groceries Affordable Act of 2018, passed on election day. The initiative is designed to inhibit any local governing body from imposing or increasing taxes on groceries. The definition of groceries is limited and does not include certain items.
