ROLE

Robin leads a team of sales & use tax professionals in DMA’s Texas region. She ensures DMA’s Client Service Principles are embraced by the team and that best practices are utilized to deliver exceptional services to DMA’s clients. Robin also works closely with clients and DMA’s sales & use tax professionals to develop and implement tax planning strategies that result in significant tax savings. She plans, organizes, and performs sales & use tax recovery reviews for large public and private corporations. Robin analyzes clients’ transaction tax data, reviews sales & use tax audit assessments, and files the necessary refunds and appeals. She also negotiates with auditors and hearing officers regarding audit assessments and refunds, performs sales & use tax managed audits on behalf of clients, establishes managed compliance agreements, and provides sales & use tax training seminars. Robin proactively works with state tax authorities to ensure DMA’s clients receive equitable treatment as compared to other taxpayers in the same state and industry. She focuses on the relationship with the client and the state tax auditors to ensure the best results for the client.

  • Completed thousands of sales & use tax recovery projects, Texas managed audits, and managed compliance audits
  • Successfully managed sales & use tax audits, filed necessary appeals, negotiated with auditors regarding audit assessments and refunds, and attended hearings
  • 7 years of experience with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, where she performed audits of mid-size to large corporations
  • Technical reviewer at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Regional Processing Center, where she reviewed audits from all state office
  • Interacted with auditors, supervisors, and managers to ensure the accuracy and consistent application of the tax laws
  • Reviewed sampling procedures and audit methods to make sure they were applied correctly
